Avoiding Vaginal Cuts
Vaginal cuts are common problems of women who are sexually active. Though they are not that serious, it can be very uncomfortable and annoying. There is however a good news because such cuts can easily be prevented.
Most of vaginal cuts happen after sexual course, but these are normal. You may sometimes notice a stinging sensation when the semen comes in contact with the open cuts. Though these minor cuts cannot create a long term health issue, they can still affect your sexual experience because it makes you uncomfortable. So learning how to prevent them is very important to achieve a healthy sex life.
One of the common causes of vaginal cuts is vaginal dryness. Usually if a woman is aroused sexually, she naturally produces fluids that can lubricate the vagina during sexual activity. However, if the vagina is not lubricated enough, it reduces the friction making it painful and can certainly irritate or cut the vaginal skin.
One factor that can cause vaginal dryness is menopause. Women who are in the childbearing age have higher levels of vaginal wetness, even if they are not aroused. On the other hand, menopausal women have lower level of estrogen thus leading to vaginal dryness.
Another factor that you have to consider is the sexual excitement before the actual sexual activity or the so-called foreplay. Sexual excitement and desire can release vaginal fluids; simply put, if there is insufficient foreplay or no foreplay the vagina will stay dry. Women have to be aroused and excited to produce these vaginal fluids and you can do this during foreplay otherwise, a woman’s vagina would be drier hence vaginal cuts are likely to occur.
Although it is not a common cause of vaginal dryness, history of abuse can affect a woman’s perception of sexual activity. Survivors of sexual abuse usually have a hard time enjoying sex. They tend to be uneasy and uncomfortable during foreplay or sexual intercourse. Therefore, this would lead to not producing vaginal fluids making them vulnerable for having cuts in their vagina.
Now that you are armed with this knowledge, you can surely avoid having vaginal cuts for you to have a more comfortable sexual experience.
